Infrared Conversion

Almost all modern digital cameras contain an infrared low-pass filter. Cameras have them to reduce infrared light in order to produce better color photos. We remove the infrared low-pass filter and install a high-pass filter which blocks visible light and allows only infrared (700nm) to pass.

WHY INFRARED? Our world is defined by our senses. Our sense of sight, like all our senses, is limited. Infrared photography offers us a peak at the world that our eyes alone can not capture. The world in IR looks strange, but at the same time familiar. Foliage has an eerie glow. Skin is milky and eyes look ominous. Clouds look bright and luminous against dark skies. If you are looking for a fresh view or a new take for your photographs, IR is the way to go! Mouse over the photo below or click here for more examples.
